In part one, we discussed the rising interest in and evidence for UAPs/UFOs.  While this phenomenon leads to many potential explanations, we also covered a number of reasons why the cause is very unlikely to be extraterrestrial aliens.  But that perspective still begs the question “What are they?”

To answer that question from a Christian perspective, we must look in the Bible and see if it ever mentions other intelligent, creative, powerful beings besides humans.  Once we take this step, we see that not only does the Bible describe such beings, but it actually says quite a lot about them!

 Angels and Demons

The existence of angels and demons (fallen angels) is clearly established in the Bible with ~400 references to them.  They are always described as real beings, not as symbols, metaphors, etc.  Biblical descriptions of angels and demons reference multiple characteristics that are consistent with what could be causing UAP/UFO activity:

Intelligence

Both angels and demons are characterized as highly intelligent beings with personalities, moral discernment, and free will.  Since they appear to be immortal, they also have wisdom and learning gained from millennia of experience.

Immensely Powerful / Able to Do “Impossible” Things

The Bible contains multiple examples of angels or demons exhibiting great power.  In 2 Kings 19:35, a single angel destroys 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night.  Two angels sent to rescue Lot from Sodom struck the men of the city with a supernatural blindness.  The gospels describe multiple examples of demons possessing and controlling people and sometimes giving them superhuman strength (e.g. Mark 5).  The demon Abaddon in Revelation 9 brings supernatural destruction and terror to the entire earth.

It is interesting that UAPs/UFOs are often characterized as doing “impossible” feats such as instantaneous acceleration and 90 degree turns at high speed.  Such actions should utterly destroy any physical structure, as well as kill any living creatures, due to the massive G-forces generated.  Even if aliens had technology that somehow suspended the foundational laws of physics, such actions should still create physical effects on earth.  For example, a craft exhibiting immense acceleration and speed in our atmosphere should produce sonic booms and superheated plasma from the air being compressed in front of it. But these effects are never observed, suggesting UAPs/UFOs have amazing abilities and may be something of a fundamentally different nature.  This description is strikingly similar to the biblical portrayal of supernatural angels and demons.

Physical Form

Angels and demons are described as spiritual rather than physical beings.  However, there are multiple instances where they manifest real, physical bodies.  Some examples are:

• Two angels, accompanying God, physically appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18. They even ate food prepared for them, demonstrating that they can manifest real and possibly biological bodies.
• The archangel Gabriel physically appeared to Mary (Luke 1) to tell her of God’s plan to bring the Messiah through her.
• An angel physically appeared to Peter while he was in prison (Acts 12) and helped him escape.
• Satan took on the physical form of a serpent in Eden to deceive Adam and Eve (Revelation 20:2, Genesis 3)

These accounts clearly show that angels, and likely demons, can assume physical, bodily forms.  This fact is important for several reasons.  First, it is consistent with physical UAP/UFO manifestations as well as potential “alien abduction” phenomena.   Secondly, it also means that even if the US government has recovered so-called “non-human biologics,” they could simply be the physical “shells” discarded by demons.

Why Would Demons Pretend to Be Aliens?

If extraterrestrial aliens are actually demonic in nature, what is their motivation?  Why would this strategy be one they would adopt?

The primary motivation for Satan and his demons is their hatred of both God and mankind.  Simply put, they tried to overthrow God and lost.  So now they’ve turned their attention to those made in God’s image…us.  Since they cannot defeat God, they desire to destroy us instead (e.g. 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:12)

As to the strategy of pretending to be aliens, Satan and his demons are inherent liars and deceivers (John 8:44).  Posing as something other than what they are is simply part of their nature.

In addition, Satan and the demons can and will perform incredible “signs and wonders” to deceive us (e.g. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10, Matthew 24:24; 1 Timothy 4:1).  This biblical insight is completely consistent with many of the videos showing UAPs performing seemingly impossible acts that violate the laws of physics.

The bottom line is that these entities are evil and they want to separate us from God.  Their tactics may have changed over the centuries, but the core strategy is the same:  Get us to either doubt God or rely on something or someone other than Him.  The “alien” schtick lets them do both by 1) Creating doubt in a creator God by “proving” that intelligent life has evolved throughout the universe and 2) Providing an alternative “savior” that can solve our problems like war, famine, disease, etc. with their vastly superior technology.

Evidence from Alien “Abduction” Accounts

One of the oddest and most interesting aspects of the UAP/UFO phenomenon is the occurrence of supposed “alien abductions.”  Such cases have been reported for decades and occur throughout the world.  In fact, some polls suggest that as many as 4 million Americans, from all walks of life, claim to have had an abduction experience¹.  While some of these claims are surely made up for attention, there are many cases from credible victims who truly appear to have been through some kind of unexplained and traumatic experience.

Not all abduction experiences are the same, but there are many consistencies and recurring themes reported by victims²:

1. Overall, the experiences are negative, inducing long-term fear, stress, and trauma.
2. Victims very often report that the aliens communicate with or even control them telepathically
3. The initial “capture” often involves feelings of paralysis and fear
4. The experiences often involve some form of medical exam, including degrading probes of bodily orifices, taking of tissue samples, and even perverse sexual encounters.
5. The aliens often give new knowledge or “revelation” to the victims, including spiritual “truths” and future “prophecies” about the earth’s fate.

Of these five factors, four of them are entirely consistent with what one could expect from a demonic interaction.  The first three in fact sound very similar to descriptions of demonic possession!  The medical exams could simply be part of an overall deception and intended to give their “alien” identities credibility.  This seems especially likely since the exams do not appear to be very technologically advanced and often use seemingly crude instruments and procedures³.

The fifth theme, the sharing of spiritual truths, is one we will delve into in more detail.  This aspect, above all the others, clearly points to demonic activity.

Spiritual “Truths”

Supposed abductees regularly report that “aliens” share spiritual truths with them.  Common elements of this extraterrestrial religion include many New Age or eastern mystic themes including:  universal “oneness,” environmental responsibility, reincarnation, and expanded “consciousness.”  Interestingly, Christianity and its core teachings appear to be one of the aliens’ favorite targets to denigrate.  In particular, the deity of Christ and the reliability of the Bible are key issues “aliens” seek to discredit⁴.

This fact is not just Christian propaganda.  It is widely recognized in the UAP/UFO research community.  To illustrate, I gave Grok AI the prompt: “Do alien abductors seem to have particular animosity toward Christianity?” Grok reports:

“Yes, according to many abduction reports, the ‘aliens’ (or entities) often display what appears to be particular animosity toward Christianity.  This is one of the more consistent patterns noted in the literature, especially by those analyzing the phenomenon through a spiritual lens.” 

While the use of any AI tool does not, by itself, constitute rigorous research, the above reply is formulated based on Grok’s search of publicly available source material.  Clearly, there is a well-defined and broad-based pattern it detected.

In a related note, it is very interesting that abduction experiences are reported across practically every social and demographic group.  Except one.  Oddly enough, reports of direct alien contact or abduction are very rare among self-identified evangelical Christians⁵.

Even more interesting is the fact that in the few cases that are reported by Christians, the victims often reported they were able to immediately stop the experience by praying to or invoking the name of Jesus⁶!  In fact, Joseph Jordan, founder of CE4 Research Group, became a Christian as a direct result of his research into UFOs and abductions, in large part because he saw how common this phenomenon was!

Occult / New Age Involvement

Another clear pattern that has emerged from research into alien abductees is that most victims have had at least some prior involvement in occult or new age practices⁷.  This fact is well documented and easily verified across multiple sources.  As another quick illustration, I again typed a prompt into Grok: “Do alien abductees often have involvement with the occult or new age?” The response is below:

“Yes, alien abductees often report prior or concurrent involvement with the occult or New Age beliefs and practices.  This is one of the most consistent patterns noted across both supportive and skeptical research.”

The correlation with occult practices is another striking similarity to possession cases.  By dabbling in activities that are inherently demonic, many of these victims are opening a door that makes them susceptible to these experiences.

A Fringe Theory?

It is at least possible that aliens are actually demons trying to deceive us.  But are there any credible authorities or researchers that hold this position?  The answer to that question is a resounding “yes!”

Joseph Jordon, as previously mentioned, was a longtime researcher with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) who converted to Christianity after he found clear demonic themes during his investigations.  When he approached peers at MUFON, he was surprised that they had found the same connections but were not willing to report them due to the religious implications.

Ron James (MUFON) and Luis Elizondo (former director of the government’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program) have both complained of multiple Pentagon insiders trying to halt or limit research into UAPs/UFOs. Both investigators claim these insiders were resistant because they were convinced the phenomenon was demonic and not something that should be trifled with.

Other researchers, most notably J. Allen Hynek (astronomer and participant in the three USAF UFO investigations, including Project Blue Book) and Jacques Vallee (astronomer, computer scientist, and well-known ufologist), have expressed doubts that aliens are extraterrestrial but may instead be “extradimensional” beings.  They also recognized patterns similar to spiritual phenomenon.  While not specifically saying aliens are demons, this view is very consistent with that perspective.

Finally, on March 28, 2026, Vice President Vance made it clear he believes aliens are demonic in nature.  During a podcast, he remarked “I don’t think they are aliens.  I think they’re demons anyway, but that’s a longer discussion.”  It bears mentioning, whether you agree with VP Vance politically or not, he has unquestionably seen highly classified documents regarding UAPs and this is his conclusion.

Conclusion

The theory that aliens are actually demons trying to deceive us may be uncomfortable to some or even crazy to others.  But the evidence supporting this perspective is strong, both in terms of why aliens could be demons and why they are very likely not extraterrestrials.

For Christians, we cannot be afraid to advocate this viewpoint.  The Bible is very clear that extradimensional, spiritual beings of immense power do exist and are involved in our world.  In fact, Paul states this plainly when he writes “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

One word of warning is warranted, however.  If aliens are in fact demons, Christians should be very careful with this entire phenomenon.  It is dangerous, spiritually, emotionally, and physically, to engage in any activity that is demonic in nature.  It is not wise for Christians to become “ufologists” or be preoccupied with studying and researching these experiences.  Our time and attention should be spent glorifying and serving God, not becoming obsessed with His enemies!
